Social media that is permanently recorded and owned by you.
Post directly to the blockchain using your wallet. There is no
algorithm, no ads, no suggested content, and publicly readable without a wallet.
Posts are permanent.
Your posts are recorded and stored on the blockchain permanently. USSE provides the interface, not the storage, so the record itself cannot be erased or altered by any party.
Chronological order, enforced by contract.
The feed has no algorithm, and the contract records every post in the order it was posted, with nothing promoted or injected.
Wallet-owned identity and content.
Every identity on TheWall is a wallet address and all content is permanently tied to it. The private key that controls it is held only by you, so no platform controls your wallet or owns your content.
Posting and the feed
Post on-chain, then read the feed exactly as it happened, no algorithm in between.
Posting
- Your wallet connects in place of a username and password. No account is created and no name, email, or phone number is required.
- A human-readable name can be registered to replace your wallet address in the feed and across the platform.
- Post text, images, and short video on Ethereum L1 or Base L2. Base is cheaper.
- The fee is $0.03 minimum per post, like, or repost, displayed in ETH and USD before you confirm. That fee replaces advertising.
The feed
- There are four feed views: Global (with Raw and Trending options), Following, and My Feed.
- Global Raw shows all posts in chronological order.
- Global Trending is every post, ordered by verifiable on-chain count of replies, likes, and reposts.
- Following shows every post from every wallet you choose to follow, in the order they were posted.
- My Feed is a record of your own posting history.
- Global Raw and Global Trending are readable with no wallet or fee required.
Common Questions
Clear answers on blockchains, wallets, and why every post carries a small fee.
What is a blockchain?
A blockchain is a shared ledger maintained by thousands of independent computers. No single company controls it, which means no one can ever change or delete what is recorded on it.
What is ETH?
ETH is the currency of the Ethereum network, the blockchain TheWall is built on.
What is a wallet?
A wallet has two parts: a private key and a public address. The private key is your secret credential that proves you control the address. The address is your public identity on the blockchain and on TheWall. Apps like MetaMask generate it for free in seconds. No one but you holds it or controls it.
Why do I have to pay to post and like?
Paying every time you post or like is the reason you have a permanent on-chain record. It also makes mass bots and AI farms uneconomical, eliminates the need for ads and suggested content, and restores real value to every post, reply, and like. The content is the product, not the user.
What happens when someone posts something offensive?
Offensive material can be reported by any user. Once the post is reported, it is flagged. You can control whether flagged posts appear in your view of TheWall, and USSE can remove posts from display in the app, but every post is still permanently recorded on the blockchain.
What if I post something I want to remove?
Once it is posted, it can never be deleted from the blockchain or changed. That is the nature of the blockchain.
